Yamaha purchased the new Spare Parts warehouse at Wetherill Park in April 1989 so that national distribution of spare parts could be centralised. In April 1990, Yamaha Head Office was also relocated to Wetherill Park , adjacent to the National Spare Parts warehouse.

To diversify its activities in Australia , Yamaha proceeded to purchase Rose Bay Marina and Dory's Seafood Restaurant in December 1987. In July 1989, Addfast Accessories (wholesaler of motorcycle accessories) was acquired. In September 1989, Yamaha commenced production of fiberglass boats at its new subsidiary company, Southwind Marine Products Pty. Ltd. Located at Ourimbah, north of Sydney . Further diversification in the marine field took place in April 1990, with the acquisition of Bob McKay International Marinas Pty. Ltd. (marina construction) based in Queensland.

Yamaha has continued over the years to successfully introduce new products into the marketplace. It has always met market demand by offering better quality, higher performance products that fully utilize Yamaha's advanced technology. These products have become part of a wide range of recreational items and industrial products, such as motorcycles, scooters, four-wheelers, snowmobiles, outboards, water vehicles, boats, golf cars, go kart engines, power generators, water and sludge pumps, industrial engines and accessories.
