Ben George on his way to a top five result in the 15 years Lites.

NSWYJDT Stay In Contention at Port Mac

15 Jun 2010

Round two of the NSW Motocross Championships was far from easy for NSW Yamaha Junior Development Team (NSWYJDT). The perfect track conditions were a huge contrast from the mud-fest that was round one earlier in the season. It did, however, bring out some of the best in the riders with plenty of determination and commitment shown across the two day event.

Ben George (Chris Watson Motorcycles) had a tough weekend at Port Macquarie, struggling to feel totally comfortable with the track. Suffering from a few crashes early in the day, his confidence took a hit and he really had to dig deep to keep himself in the title race. After a few setup changes on the bike thanks to AXIS Motorsports, Benny turned his weekend around by the final moto to bag a third place. That helped him to fifth overall for the weekend in the 15 years Lites class.

Mackenzie Tricker (Team Moto) once again showed strength in the face of adversity by climbing aboard her YZ 250F to complete the final moto of the 13/u16 Female Lites Class, after injuring her knee in the second final of the 13/u15yr 250cc 4 stroke class. The injury caused her to DNF the 13/u15yr 250cc 4 stroke finals but by battling through the final Female class moto Mackenzie earned second overall for the weekend.

Jordan Bissaker (Bike and Power) made his return to racing at Port Macquarie from his broken humorous sustained earlier in the year. Bizzo put in a great performance on the YZ 85cc in the 12 to 15 years 85cc, he only just missed out on a podium with 3-3-4 results earning him fourth overall at round two.

Brendon Walther (City Coast Motorcycles) showed he is serious about his racing even though he is the youngest team member. In the hotly contested 9/u12yrs 85cc class he battled his way to a 6th place finish for the weekend. His strongest ride all year came in the final moto for the weekend when he crashed on the first lap while running fifth, then passed no less than 20 riders to make his way to tenth by the finish.

NSW YJDT would like to thank its supporters: Yamaha, GYTR, Fox, Motul, RK Chains, JT Sprockets, Pirelli, Tee ’n’ Cee Signs, Oakley, Unit Clothing, Ferodo, Acerbis, Ariete and Y-AIM.
