The Queensland Yamaha Junior Development Team continued on their winning ways as the team rolled through Toowoomba over the weekend for round four of the Shell Advance Sunshine State Series.
On board their Yamaha machinery, Joel Dinsdale and Wilson Todd won seven out of the nine races they competed in and have taken the points lead in the series of the respective classes.
Joel Dinsale (Bullet Bikes) is in sensational form and carrying a gear bag full of confidence after his showing in the Queensland Championship. That winning feeling has now carried over to the Sunshine State Series and again Dinsdale bought home more victories.
Joel won the 12 to 13 years 85cc class on the back of his 1-2-1 performance and then put his stamp on the weekend by finishing 1-3-1 to win the 13 to 14 years Lites class. Dinsdale now holds the series lead in both the 85cc and 250cc division and he has made a super smooth transition to the YZ250F.
“Toowoomba can be a hard track to race with the big hills and ruts, but today went pretty well and I was able to win both classes. I love riding the 250F and I can’t wait to get on it every weekend,” Dinsdale said.
Wilson Todd (Steve Hunts Motorcycles) continues to lead the way in the 9 to 11 years 85cc class on board his YZ85. Todd dominated proceedings winning all three motos and extended his points lead in the series by a healthy 15 points.
“After the Roma race last weekend, Dad and I stayed in South East Queensland and got some riding in during the week,” said the Mareeba based rider. “With school, I don’t get the chance to ride much during the week, but it was awesome to get a few extra rides in and it showed on the weekend,” Todd finishes.
Round five now heads for Roma where the boys are looking to capitalize on their current good form and lock away another big bag of points.
