Billy Jackson goes 2-2 in the Victorian Junior MX championship

VYJR Adds Another Victorian MX Championship

3 Aug 2011

Yamaha Junior Racing’s Joel Milesevic added another state motocross championship to his mantle piece, winning the 125/150cc A Grade division after the Victorian Junior Motocross Championships were wrapped up over the weekend.

In typical Milesevic fashion, he closed out the final round at Shepparton with all guns blazing and won all three races to dominate the day and the championship.  The Ballarat whiz kid was simply too strong throughout the championship and thoroughly deserves his number one plate after a near faultless campaign only dropping one race out of the 12 contested.

He also closed out the championship strongly on his Yamaha YZ250F. He rounded out the championship in eighth place but only competed in the final two rounds with a podium result in Shepparton. His 4-3-2 results earned him third overall for the round.

“It’s nice to finish off the championship strongly and have two good results,” the young flyer said. “I head off to the world titles next week in Italy and this event was a good hit out for me and I'm looking forward to seeing how I stack up against the fastest riders in the world.”

Billy Jackson continues with his consistent and high quality season with two podium finishes in Shepparton. Competing in the 250cc and 125cc divisions, Jackson took second for the round with 2-3-2 finishes on the 250 machine while 2-2-3 results on the 125 also saw him land in second place.

His round results reflect his position in the championship as Jackson ended up with the number two plate for both classes.

“The weekend went pretty well, but it really would have been good to win the round and the championship,” said a disappointed Jackson. “I still have a few things to work on and there is plenty of time before the Australian titles so I will focus my training for that and try and go one better.”
