YRT is the centrepiece of Yamaha Australia’s road racing program, all conducted under the guidance of John Redding, who has owned and operated the team. Racing on immaculately prepared YZF-R1M’s, YRT set the benchmark for look, professionalism and longevity in road racing, not to mention their successful on track exploits.
The team has enjoyed tremendous success over the years with a host of names and high profile riders representing the team as well as collecting plenty of championships along the way. Kevin Curtain, Jamie and Daniel Stauffer and Broc Parkes have all sprayed champagne from the podium while racing for YRT.

The team continues to push the boundaries with bike development and the hard working YRT wont rest until they secure more championship success.

Mike Jones

2022 marks the tenth season Halliday has been not just on Yamaha, but also with the Yamaha Racing Team. He has contested all kinds of classes, on all sorts of bikes, in a range of different championships and has always been near the front. He was 2018 600cc Supersport champion after a dominating year and progressed to the Superbike category where he has finished fourth and second in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
The two-time ASBK champion returns to Yamaha and the Yamaha Racing Team for 2022. Jones is a methodical and thoughtful rider who takes racing seriously in how he goes about it. Since jumping on the R1, Jones has made himself comfortable on the bike and improved in each and every session. He has enjoyed success at the highest level and also comes with international experience having spent time in Europe. But for 2022, the focus is on regaining the ASBK crown and put YRT at the top of the pile.
