What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing defect, the mounting bolts connecting the camshaft retainer plate may not be sufficiently tightened. As a result, the camshaft retainer plate could become loose causing the engine to stall and fail to restart.
What are the hazards?
A loss of motive power whilst riding could increase the risk of an accident-causing injury or death to the rider and/or passenger, or other road users.
What should customers do?
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Yamaha requesting them to schedule an appointment to have the work carried out, free of charge.
