The General Café, Kangaroo Valley

Kangaroo Valley has long been a destination for riders enjoying the fantastic roads around the Southern Highlands. In the heart of the village is The General Café, a modern food oasis housed in a beautiful heritage building reflecting the surrounding area’s history.

What makes The General Café a special experience is its unique take on a café culture. “We produce honest and nutritious food and beverages with slight quirks,” announces its web page. “It’s the new blackWe like to keep it handmade, local, fresh and sustainable.

Browse the menu, and learn more about The General Café via the links menu below the short film. The General Café is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 8am, and guests are welcome to sample drinks and light snacks through to a hearty meal.

Like the Tardis from Dr Who, The General Café is much larger inside than the façade would have you believe. There’s outside seating on the rear verandas where larger dining groups can relax, or there’s more intimate seating inside. The café also loves dogs as much as the people who bring them in, so don’t be afraid to have your fur baby accompany you for brunch.

Adding a little additional quirkiness to the experience is the Handcrafted @ The General, which is attached to the café that sells a range of products that reflect the cafe’s vibe and chosen food style. Organic Kombucha and sourdough bread can be purchased, along with Sauerkraut and Super Dukkah.
