YXZ1000R debuts at Milbrodale Mountain Classic

Last weekend Yamaha Sydney Sport Rec dealer Justin Chisholm of Trooper Lu’s Garage competed in his first Off Road event in his CAMS spec YXZ1000R.

The Milbrodale Mountain Classic had its 30th anniversary and attracted 82 competitors from Trophy Trucks to the Superlites class which was sponsored by Yamaha Motor Australia.

Entering as an absolute novice, Justin and his navigator Christos Gazais worked their way through the field to finish 2nd in the Superlite class and 21st place outright. Over the weekend he clocked up over 250 race kilometres.

‘I just didn’t realise how gruelling this event would be.’ said Justin. ‘We didn’t have any time to test the YXZ and I’m really pleased how well it performed. Once I started to get my head around how to attack the course my starts improved dramatically and my lap times dropped quickly.’

Congratulations Justin on a great effort and check out the short video below to see how well the YXZ1000R gets off the line.
