Yamaha Motor Australia continued its long-standing support of the Wall to Wall: Ride for Remembrance on 13 September, participating in the annual national ride that honours fallen police officers and raises vital funds for Police Legacy organisations.
.
Celebrating its 16th year, motorcycle riders from across Australia converged on The Domain in Sydney for the official start of the ride to the Wall of Remembrance in Canberra.
Yamaha Motor Australia had a large display area set up at the starting point, where visitors could view a range of Yamaha motorcycles, including the all-new YZF-R9, the Tracer 9 GT and Tracer 9 GT+ with its innovative Y-AMT automatic transmission, the Tenere 700, and more.
By mid-morning, the motorcycle parking area had swelled to capacity and the official ride was flagged away, sending more than 1700 riders out of Sydney on their way to the National Police Memorial in Canberra—a monument inscribed with more than 700 plaques bearing the names and details of officers who died in the line of duty or as a result of their service.
The route took participants through the scenic Central West of New South Wales, with key checkpoints along the way including the NSW Police Force Academy, Collector, and Rowes Lagoon, before the arrival in Canberra. Upon reaching the capital, riders gathered for a remembrance service at the National Police Memorial, reflecting on the significance of the event and the sacrifice of those it honours.

While motorcycles of all makes, shapes, and sizes took part in the ride, the most popular machine was Yamaha’s MT-09, which was raffled as part of the fundraising effort. The raffle gave everyone who purchased a ticket to support the Wall to Wall event the chance to win the naked performance bike while helping raise money for Police Legacy. On Saturday afternoon in Canberra, as the crowds relaxed in the sunshine after the long ride, Timothy James from Tasmania had his name drawn as the winner and will soon take delivery of a brand-new MT-09.
Adding to the event’s spirit of adventure, a group of riders opted for a more challenging path, with Yamaha-supported provider RideADV staging its 9th Annual ADV Ride to the Police Remembrance Wall. This multi-day off-road journey ran from 10 to 14 September, starting at Sydney CBD’s Police Remembrance Wall alongside the road riders before winding its way through stunning Central West NSW landscapes and arriving in Canberra after three days of spectacular scenery and fine weather.
Congratulations to everyone who took part.
