Denyer hits the dirt

TV, radio and motorsports star Grant Denyer steps out of the studio and onto the trails on a Yamaha WR250R.

Australian media and motorsports celebrity Grant Denyer is one of the busiest blokes in showbusiness... so doesn’t often get the opportunity to ride dirt bikes. Which is a source of disappointment because off-road riding is one of the Gold Logie winner’s greatest passions.

That’s all set to change now Yamaha ambassador Denyer and good mate Adrian Christie have collected a pair of WR250Rs from YMA’s headquarters in Wetherill Park. The bikes are now heading up to Ride ADV’s Dural workshop for a full Australianisation program – which involves kitting them out for local bush conditions.

Denyer and Christie plan to ride some of the tighter trails around the Orange/Bathurst area of NSW – and eventually tackle a Simpson desert crossing. “We’d heard nothing but good things about these bikes, and when I got on one I was surprised at how well it rides,” explains Denyer. “I love the concept of a lightweight adventure bike – something that you can just have a heap of fun on with the versatility to tackle open trails as well as tight terrain,” he continues.

Denyer looks forward to joining fellow Yamaha riders on future adventures – when his busy schedule allows.
