The biannual event aims to incentivise Yamaha’s service technicians by identifying and celebrating the best in the business. Six finalists battle it out in a competition at YMA’s Sydney HQ and the winner represents Oceania on the world state at YMC in Japan.
The six finalists earned their status by participating in the Yamaha Technical Academy (YTA) 2019 Silver Level Training Course and scoring the highest marks in the final questionnaire.
The selection process proved close with 2017 Oceania Technician Grand Prix runner-up, Bevan Holmes from TeamMoto Northside in QLD, returning to challenge for the number one spot. Following a thorough score check the other successful five finalists are:
Lincoln Brien - Chris Watson Motorcycles, NSW
Turlough Khabibulin - TeamMoto Yamaha Moorooka, QLD
Kurt Grenfell - Cully's Motorcycle Centre, WA
Daniel Feck - Hewitt Motorcycle, NZ
Cleve Nicolle - Coast Yamaha, SA

The winning contestant will represent Oceania at the 2020 Yamaha World Technician Grand Prix at Yamaha Motor Company headquarters in Japan.
