Enduro Son of a Gun on The Way Up

He is the son of a 10-time Queensland Enduro and six-time Australian Enduro Champion, and Harley Hutton has certainly hit the Australian racing scene with his throttle pinned.
The eight-year-old from Dayboro, Queensland, has just won the second and third rounds of the Queensland Enduro Championship aboard the all-new YZ65, held near Anduramba (near Black Butt) at the weekend.

“I had the best time,” Harley said. “I love racing with my mates and my dad and I'm goign to beat him soon. The track was awesome, it was so much fun! My lap times got faster as the day went on and I didn’t have a single crash all weekend, so I’m stoked with that.

“My bike is running so well, this Yamaha is Awesome! It sounds like dad’s big bike and has so much power. I love my Yamaha and I think racing is the best, thank you Yamaha for my bike!

“I can’t wait until next season when I will be nine and a bit bigger, the guys I am racing are mostly ten or eleven, so I can’t wait.”

It was top podium finishes all around for Hutton racing, with Kirk also taking the top prize in the Expert Over 35’s Class aboard his Yamaha.

“It was fantastic to race at a new property,” Hutton said. “The Toowoomba Motorcycle Club did a top job with the event, the track was pretty fast but it was good fun.

“I am so proud of Harley, he is such a champ. He pushed hard all weekend and finished strong. All of the juniors did fantastic and they are a great bunch of kids off the bikes too.”

Hutton said he and Harley are “loving” the new YZ65.

“The bike just handles and performs so well, it’s unlike any mini bike I have ever come in contact with,” Kirk said. “It is a weapon; runs strong, clean, crisp, and is super easy for the kids to ride. It’s also so much easier to work on and it's super reliable which is a bonus for us race dads!
