How did you get into motorcycling?
I always wanted to get my bike licence although I never had anyone to do it with. When my friend Hazel started working at Adventure Moto she got the motorcycle bug and wanted to get her licence. So, my journey finally started in June 2021 when we completed the Stay Upright course.
What type of rider are you?
I enjoy going on adventure rides as well as cruising the highways and backroads.
What challenges have you faced as a motorcyclist?
Due to the fact that I got my licence during COVID, I was unable to sit on any bike and as a result of my inexperience I chose the wrong beginner’s bike for me. I brought a Honda CB500X. I lost all my confidence because the bike was way too big for off road. Hazel had brought an XT250 and said that I should get one. It took me 12 months to find one at the right price. OMG what a game changer. It gave me so much confidence and so the love of the XT commenced. I have gone on two ADV rides and I love it. Can’t wait to do more and continue to gather confidence and experience.
What is your current bike and what do you like about it?
The amazing riding experiences I have enjoyed since owning the XT can’t be measured. I still have the Honda too and I love going on completely different rides with each.
What do you most like about riding bikes?
I love that it allows my brain to stop thinking about everything else and just enjoy the ride that I am doing. I have made so many new friends and my partner has also decided to take up riding. It has brought another dimension to our relationship.
Do you have any motorcycling related goals?
To do more adventure riding and explore the great outdoors on two wheels with my partner and friends.
