Tia Bowers

How did you get into motorcycling?
My dad taught me and I attended Junior Trials Mini Cycle Club in Crangan Bay, NSW.

What type of rider are you?
I like to ride lots of different styles but enduro is my favourite.

What challenges have you faced as a motorcyclist?
Being a girl rider and having confidence to believe in myself and my ability. When I was eight, Jess Gardiner ran some coaching at our club which really made me think that older girls can be successful dirt bike riders and it wasn’t just for older boys. Now I want to race and win like Jess! Plus finding places to ride can be a challenge.

What is your current bike and what do you like about it?
2021 Yamaha YZ85cc Small Wheel, I love the reliability and performance.

What do you most like about riding bikes?
Riding with my dad and friends, spending time with my family and MX friends we have met along the way. And racing of course.

Do you have any motorcycling related goals?
To place in 2023 in the NSW Off Road and Australian Off Road Championship – I would also like to do the Hattah Desert Race and when I get my licence I would love to ride Cape York with my dad.
