What is the defect?
In some situations, the standing assist system may not release immediately after deactivation.
What are the hazards?
If the stand assist does not release immediately, it may prevent the rider from steering, causing loss of control resulting in the rider or passenger being injured.
What is the remedy?
A remedial disk pad and/or disk plate will be fitted to all affected models..
What should customers do?
As an interim measure Yamaha requests you attend your nominated Yamaha dealer to have your stand assist function manually deactivated free of charge. Notification will be supplied when an appropriate solution is available.
