What is the defect?

A machining defect of the primary drive and driven meshing gears has been determined in the affected models. During acceleration and engine RPM increase when shifting through gear ratios, excessive noise may become evident due to a mismatch of these meshing gear components.

What are the hazards?

The noise generated may exceed the regulated Australian Design Rule (ADR) external noise level standards for this model.

What should customers do?

To correct this defect, Yamaha is initiating a Factory Modification Campaign, whereby affected MT03LAH models must have the “Primary Drive Gear” and “Primary Driven Gear Comp.” exchanged with a new counter measure one.

You should contact your local Yamaha Dealer to set up an appointment to have your model remedied free of charge.
