It has been identified that the Yamaha Portable Generator models EF2000iS and EF2000iSC have a defect in the molded area of the fuel tank.

What is the defect?
The molded area of the fuel tank to which the fuel valve is mounted was molded at the incorrect temperature.
What are the hazards?
The tank material can be too brittle allowing the tank to crack. If the fuel tank cracks, fuel could leak increasing the risk of fire, which could result in severe injury or death.
What should customers do?
Yamaha recommends that consumers do not operate their affected generator until this modification is performed. The Yamaha retailer will replace the fuel tank with one that has been correctly molded.
