What is the defect?

In affected cars, the accelerator pedal return spring may have been damaged at the factory while the hook was being bent, resulting in residual stress which may cause the spring to break. If the spring breaks, the accelerator pedal would not return to the home position when released.

What are the hazards?

The car might not slow down without use of the brakes.

What should customers do?

Your Yamaha dealer will replace the accelerator pedal return spring with a new stronger type of spring, free of charge. This procedure takes about 12 minutes per car, but your dealer may need to have your car(s) longer than this, depending upon scheduling.

For further information please contact Yamaha via email: cr@yamaha-motor.com.au or phone: 1300 277 137.

See www.productsafety.gov.au for Australian product recall information.

This repair is conducted free of charge.
