For Yamaha Motor, this year was defined by innovation, sustainability, and adventure. Across Australia and New Zealand, we introduced groundbreaking technologies and products that set new benchmarks for mobility and marine performance.
Highlights from 2025:
70th Anniversary
This year, Yamaha Motor celebrated its 70th anniversary. We used this opportunity to look back on the iconic Kando Actions that have continued from the company's founding 70 years ago to the present day, and renew our commitment to creating new Kando for the future.
Precision Agriculture
Yamaha Motor launched Yamaha Agriculture, Inc., combining autonomous equipment from Robotics Plus and AI-powered analytics from The Yield. This platform delivers precision farming solutions for specialty crops like wine grapes and apples, helping growers tackle labor shortages, optimise resources, and improve sustainability.
World Tech Grand Prix
After taking out the Oceania Tech Grand Prix, Australia’s Lincoln Brien went on to secure an exceptional second place at Yamaha’s 2025 World Technician Grand Prix (WTGP), delivering a podium result on the global stage for Chris Watson Motorcycles and Yamaha Motor Australia & New Zealand.
Marine Innovation
At the Hutchwilco Boat Show, Yamaha unveiled the world’s first hydrogen-powered outboard engine, a major step toward carbon neutrality. This prototype demonstrates our commitment to alternative fuels and sustainable marine technology.
WaveRunner Evolution
The 2025 lineup introduced the FX SVHO with a supercharged 1.8L engine, integrated Bluetooth audio, and a 7-inch touchscreen with GPS and ride customisation. For anglers, the FX JetFish debuted as a purpose-built fishing platform featuring Garmin sonar, RecDeck accessories, and Yamaha’s new 1.9L High Output engine. Those and more all celebrating 40 years of WaveRunner evolution.
Motorcycle Advancements
Yamaha rolled out the MT-09 Y-AMT, featuring our first Automated Manual Transmission, refreshed off-road models with improved suspension and showcased the YE-01 electric motocross concept model at EICMA 2025. Those headlines were coupled with the world premiere of six new prototypes utilising EV and Hydrogen technology at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show. Further into 2025 the augmented the 70th Anniversary celebrations with a special edition R-series line-up including an all-new YZF-R7.
Marine Partnerships
We introduced Yamaha PowerMatched, a factory-fitted boat and motor program ensuring optimised performance and seamless integration for Australian boaters.

Yamaha Rightwaters partnership with Dr Riley Elliot was taken to the big screen to share his story and passion through Ecosystems on the Brink.
Looking ahead to 2026, we anticipate new opportunities shaped by seven generations coexisting, the rise of AI, and the growing need for technology detox moments. Adventures on Yamaha products will continue to deliver Kando—those deep feelings of excitement and satisfaction that unite us.
