The VMAX SHO high performance range was recently expanded to include the VF115, allowing smaller horsepower rated boats to take advantage of this high performance platform. This in-line four cylinder, 1.8 litre outboard is tuned to deliver additional top-end performance for high performance sports such as bass fishing, skiing and racing.

The VF115 has achieved significant weight reductions, by utilising a lightweight composite lower pan and cowling, a single-ram power trim and tilt mechanism, and a lightweight mounting bracket, delivering an exceptional power-to-weight performance. This compact, lightweight and capable engine delivers a performance typically associated with a two stroke, but with the convenience, reliability and whisper quietness of a four-stroke.

1832cc Four-Cylinder Engine

The 16 valve, 1.8 Litre, dual overhead camshaft design delivers superior efficiency in the transfer of intake and exhaust gasses throughout the RPM range. The VF115 incorporates larger intake and exhaust valves which enhance response, efficiency and mid-range torque.

81MM Cylinder Bore

The cylinder bore size has been increased from 79mm to 81mm which provides more engine torque. A larger valve was adopted for increased transfer efficiency for both intake and exhaust.

Direct Ignition

The direct ignition system with a plug cap and an ignition coil provides higher reliability and increased performance.

Electronic Throttle Valve

The electronic throttle valve makes precise throttle movements according to engine temperature and atmospheric conditions, to deliver incredible response, awesome power and exceptional fuel economy.

Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection

The Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, injects the right amount of fuel into the combustion chamber at the optimum timing, for ‘first-time, every-time’ hot and cold starting, improved fuel efficiency, excellent throttle response.

Offset Crankshaft

The crankshaft design is offset 5mm from the centre of cylinder for more efficient transfer of power to the crankshaft.

Single Ram Power Trim and Tilt

The compact and light-weight single ram power, trim and tilt (PTT) unit and bracket have been developed exclusively for this engine to further reduce overall engine weight for increased acceleration and speed.

Variable Trolling Control

Yamaha’s variable trolling control allows the skipper to precisely adjust the engine’s idling speed from 600 to 1000 RPM in 50 RPM increments. The ability to finely tune the trolling speed allows fisherman to perfect their lure presentation when chasing different species of fish.

Remote Control Security System
